spring fling: minialbum 'i love spring'

spring fling: minialbum 'i love spring' cover by momentstolivefor

Spring is here and I had the urge to create something beautiful to honor spring time. Because I love my Summerlove minialbum, I tried to craft something alike for spring. And this is the pretty result, naturally in light and bright spring colors and with lots of washi tape:

I thought about things, I'm happy to see or experience in spring. Little details like spotting the first snowdrop or the first ladybug of the year. It was more than inspirational to go through my photo collection and search for spring photos. Although the raindrops and snow crystals are monochrome pictures, they bring out the statement pretty good - that changing weather from snow to rain means, that spring is back, don't you think? What do you love most about spring?

For the minialbum cover I used simple cardboard and covered it with washi tape. The pages are grey and white papers, which measure 10 cm x 10 cm. The stamps are from Elise Blaha-Cripe and Evalicious.

spring fling: spring garlands

spring fling: spring garlands inspiration by momentstolivefor

These light garlands are so pretty and instantly give you a feeling of spring. The round circles and flowers in different spring-like colors like light green, light blue, white, light yellow and pink are gorgeous and the use of paper with text gives it a little extra, don't you think?

But what would be spring without some butterflies. Even though here are papers with darker colors used, the garlands has a light effect, because the space between them is bigger. Very cute idea.

Another cute idea is this pom pom garland in this springy colors. If you are interessted in creating one, here you can find a good tutorial for making pom poms on the blog of Anna likes by Anna

If you can't decide what shape to use for your garland - circle, flower, butterfly - why don't use them all in one. But to make the garland not too messy, you could choose only two or three kinds of paper. That way the shapes are more in focus.

Beautiful for Mother's Day is the last garland. Only made with rose blossoms. Wouldn't that make a lovely gift? And if you do it with dried flowers, it will last a long time.

summerly feelings

my balcony 2013 by momentstolivefor

What a beautiful day! A first taste of summer here in North Germany. Warmth, sunshine and blue sky. The trees are full with blossoms and everywhere does it smell like barbeque. The perfect day to get the balcony ready, buy some flowers and get the first little sunburn of the year. How about you? How did you enjoy this amazing early summer day?

My boyfriend and I bought some flowers and seeds and planted them on our balcony - one lavender, two tomato plants, many different herbs and some tricolored flowers. I forgot their name - they are actually blooming white, yellow and red at the same time. They are so beautiful. Additionally I planted two pots of meadow flowers and one with sunflowers.

I am so excited, how they will turn out. Hopefully I do the right things... I'm not exactly a flower person, I have more of a brown thumb, in opposite to my mom, who loves flowers. Everything is green and blooming, when I visit my parents. It's lovely.

neon

"When neon reemerged a few years ago, we all assumed it was just a brief flashback to the big-hair days of the 1980s. But since then, neon has shed its irony, and even its nostalgia, to take its rightful place at the palette table. Paired with neutral tones and in small doses, neon is way beyond Flock of Seagulls at this point. Bold and beautiful, neon is here to stay, so join the fun!"

Couldn't have said it any better. Neon is back and I needed some time to adjust to it, to even consider it for any craft project, but now I'm totally into it. Last week I bought some craft supplies in bright shiny neon colors for some projects. Even created a minialbum with it. This weekend I will try some new color combinations with neon, some inspired by DIY ideas on my pinterest board DIY | neon. And if you are into knitting and sewing, you should definitely visit the blog The Purl Bee, because it's full of sewing and knitting ideas with neon highlights.

How about you? How do you like the comeback of neon? Do you use it or do you ignore this trend and these colors completely?

have a great weekend

photo walk: fleamarket finds II

wall of buttons {photo walk: fleamarket finds II by momentstolivefor}

I'm always amazed, what I find on fleamarkets. Everytime there are new, unexpected things. Especially happy I become, when I see things, that once belonged to me or played with in childhood days. Then suddenly some long forgotten memories pop up in my head and lead me back to those happy times. How do you feel, when you find something long forgotten on a fleamarket?

Although I already did a photo walk: fleamarket finds, I couldn't resist taking new photos on our walk around my second favorite fleamarket - happens every Sunday at the Bürgerweide in Bremen. My favorite one is also the biggest in Germany - it takes place once a month in Bonn at the Rheinaue Leisure Park. Next we will visit different fleamarkets in Berlin and hope to find some unique things for decoration and furniture for our home. What do you search for on fleamarkets?
